South Wales Fire-setting Intervention Scheme - Family support services


What we do

Works with families and/or agencies working with families, where there is a concern around a child’s unhealthy interest in fire. We offer tailor made one:one programmes which demonstrate the dangers of fire and gives fire safety advice. This can be a one off session in the home or carried on a fire station over a period of up to 10 sessions depending on the severity of the behaviour. We would usually work with youth offending service on longer programmes if there is a conviction for fire-setting.

Who do we support

Children, young people, families and professional agencies supporting children and families.
Typically our service is designed for 5 – 25yrs old. An appropriate adult needs to attend sessions with the child or young person.

Can anyone use this service?

Anyone can use the service, there is a referral process, using a form completed by agency or parent/carer.
