What we do

The Inclusion Team is part of the Learning and skills directorate. We offer advice, support and guidance on welfare, attendance and engagement and inclusion matters to pupils, parents schools and other relevant agencies. Statutory duties include; enforcement of attendance through the legal process i.e prosecution when intervention fails to improve matters, providing advice and guidance on Child Employment (issuing work permits), Children in Entertainment i.e. Performance Licensing (issuing performances license's) and licensing of Chaperones.

The Service aims to ensure children and young people in the Vale are able to achieve their educational potential.

Who do we support

Children of statutory school i.e. 5 to 16 years old and, their parents and care givers and also other linked professionals and schools.

Can anyone use this service?

Yes. Referrals can be made by parents , schools and relevant agencies.
