What we do

Childminders are self-employed, and work in their own home. They care for children from a few months old upwards, for part or all of the day.
Charges for childminding are agreed between the parent and the childminder, and will vary depending on the number of hours your child is cared for.

We must maintain records about the children in their care and include in these how they meet the needs of any children with special educational needs or disability. These need to be shared regularly with parents and by using an assess, plan, do and review cycle, show the progress children are making and the benefits any support or intervention has made towards a child’s progress. There needs to be clear targets for each child to enable them to reach ambitious outcomes and a plan as to how resources will be used to support the child and help them reach their target.
