Cardiff Parenting GroBrain (pregnancy – 12 months) - Family support services

What we do

GroBrain is a 5 week programme looking at the emotional side of parenthood, bonding and brain development. Parents learn how to ‘tune in’ to their babies cues and practice ways to soothe a baby.
Over the 5 week course you will look at topics including:
Help pregnant mothers connect diet and life style choices with their baby’s brain development
Explain three parts of the brain and how it is ‘wired up’
Show how a baby’s stress response is developed
Give a simple explanation to attachment
Baby massage
There are 5 x 2 hour sessions with a tea/coffee break.
We recommend that you attend all sessions to get the most of the programme.
You are welcome to come to sessions on your own or with a partner or another relative who supports you in your care and the care of your child. Please contact us if you are unsure.
The programme delivery style is informal with a groups of up to 12 parents.
Welsh and other community languages available upon request.
