The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) provides an emergency social work service for urgent situations which arise outside of normal office hours and cannot wait until the next working day for an assessment of the risk and provision of services. The service is available to the public and professionals that live and work within Merthyr Tydfil. EDT social workers are trained to respond to both children's and adult requests for help and support or urgent assessments.
It is a generic service for both vulnerable adults and children providing access to an emergency social worker on evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
