YMCA - Vale Young Carers Project - Family support services


What we do

The Vale Young Carers project provides respite (break), 1-2-1 support and advocacy for young carers living in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Provides an opportunity to meet other young carers and to have some fun across The Vale of Glamorgan.

Young Carers are young people aged 7 to 18 who help care for a family member who lives with them. The family member could be experiencing difficulties with one or more of the following: disability, illness, mental health issues and drug and alcohol issues.

  • Can provide specialist support for families of children with disabilities / additional needs Yes Please contact to discuss your child(s) needs further. We are able to provide support for any young carer even those with disabilities.
