Cardiff and the Vale Parents Federation - Family support services

What we do

We offer a signposting service for information, events and services that will help the unpaid carers of people with a learning disability. We support families by holding information events, workshops social activities and training events. We also hold informal social gatherings and coffee mornings at no charge where families can share ideas, learn from each other and have fun. We represent the views of our carers in consultations and at a strategic level locally, regionally and nationally. We advocate for carers and families who are lifelong carers from early diagnosis, to assessments and later life.
We regularly collaborate with Pedal Power in Cardiff, to offer a cycle ride (with coffee & cake) for unpaid carers on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Please contact us for more information regarding these Pedal Power sessions.

Who do we support

Families and unpaid carers that support a disabled child or an adult with a learning disability. We are a regional focused organisation supporting over 1000 families across the counties of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

We offer information (but not advice) on a huge range of subjects covering all areas of life, and our carers are our greatest resource in terms of information gathering and sharing their experiences of navigating life as an unpaid carer.
