Emergency Out of Hours Social Work Service – Cardiff Council and the Vale of Glamorgan

What we do

The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) provides an emergency social work service for urgent situations which arise outside of normal office hours and cannot wait until the next working day for an assessment of the risk and provision of services.

The service is available to the public and professionals that live and work within the Vale of Glamorgan or the City of Cardiff. EDT social workers are trained to respond to both children's and adult requests for help and support or urgent assessments.

Who do we support

It is a generic service for both vulnerable adults and children providing access to an emergency social worker on evenings, weekends and bank holidays and can be contacted on 02920 788570.

During daytime hours the service is not available so for the Vale of Glamorgan please contact:
