What we do

We are one of five regional collaboratives which form part of the National Adoption Service in Wales responsible for:
1. Providing information, advice and undertaking training and assessments of all prospective adoptive parents.
2. Undertaking assessments of step parent and relative adopters.
3. Finding placements to meet the needs of all children in the regional area requiring adoption.
5. Providing a support service to adoptive families pre and post adoption.
6. Providing a service for those adopted adults seeking access to their birth records and those wishing to search for their birth relatives.
7. Providing an intermediary service to birth relatives wishing contact with the adopted person.

Adopted adults and their birth families.

Is there a charge to use this service?

Intercountry adoption - Depends

Can anyone use this service?

They can self refer. Referrals for Adoption Support services can be made by a range of agencies including Social Services, Health, Education etc.
