Mid Glamorgan Area Scout Council - Children and young people's activities
What we do
Our purpose is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual and spiritual potential as individuals, responsible citizens and as members of their local national and international communities. Scouting in Mid Glamorgan helps young people improve key skills including social skills, leadership ability, teamwork ability and confidence.
Scouting has helped adult volunteers improve their physical skills, including the improved ability to cope with outdoor conditions. Within the Area are many adult volunteers who give whatever amount of time they have, bringing the enjoyment of scouting to young people. A skilled training team delivers the required learning that enables the adults to present fun and educational programmes, week in and week out. Non uniformed volunteers work tirelessly in the background, at both District and Area level, ensuring that the resources to enable this delivery of good scouting are available.
Who do we support
Each District is made up of a number of Scout Groups offering scouting activities to young people from the ages of 6 years to 18 years of age. There is also the facility for the Area to cater for young adults from 18 to 25 years of age.
