Role Play Lane - Children and young people's activities

What we do

We're a Not-for-Profit role play centre and community hub in Llantwit Fardre (South Wales), providing an inclusive, welcoming space where children can explore immersive vocational role play rooms and learn through play. Our sessions support the development of communication, language, social skills, confidence, problem-solving, fine and gross motor skills.

Alongside role play, we deliver a range of affordable and funded activities including educational classes, music, craft sessions, wellbeing activities and parental support. We also offer dedicated ALN sessions supporting a range of needs, with small group sizes, soft lighting, gentle music and access to sensory resources - creating a calm, supportive environment.

During the winter months, we act as a Warm Hub, offering a safe, warm space with a hot drink and something to eat for members of the community.

We also work with college students, volunteers and young people, providing hands-on, practical learning opportunities.

Who do we support

Our resource is for children and families in the local community, including new mums, parents and carers who benefit from inclusive, play-based support. It supports children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), individuals seeking wellbeing and social connection, and families facing barriers to access. We also support college students, volunteers and young people through practical, hands-on learning opportunities that build confidence, independence and real-life skills.

Is there a charge to use this service?

We are applying for funding to keep costs down as much as possible for the community, so costs may vary depending on the level of funding received. We hope to charge around £5 for most sessions. - Depends
